Dr. Jackeline Mejias Fuertes

About Me

Jackeline is a spirited leader, entrepreneur, teacher, speaker, changemaker, and trusted business advisor. Guided by the belief that we rise when we support others, she has helped hundreds of aspiring entrepreneurs launch and grow their own businesses throughout her 30-year career in business development.

She is a proud co-founder of Disruptive Enterprises, a startup devoted to empowering women across the globe to become entrepreneurs, linking them to business resources and the dynamic network she has cultivated. She also co-founded Women Entrepreneurs Rock, an annual event series to inspire and support women business owners.

For 16 years, Jackeline has been involved with the NJSBDC and serves as Regional Director for America’s SBDC New Jersey, an award-winning small business development center encompassing the vibrant Shore region. Under her leadership, the center has achieved national and regional recognition for its impact on economic development.

Jackeline also shares her entrepreneurial skills and business knowledge with students in higher education institutions, where she is an adjunct professor in the business departments.

An advocate for causes that strengthen youth, women, and the small business community, Jackeline serves on the following board of trustees: RWJ Monmouth Medical Center, Eastern Monmouth Area Chamber of Commerce, EMACC Educational Foundation, Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore, Steele CDC and Monmouth Arts. She is also a Brookdale Community College Business Advisory Board member, a past Impact 100 Jersey Coast member, and a past chairperson of the EMACC Educational Foundation.

Jackeline has received many accolades for her leadership and support of the business community, including names as Women in Leadership by the Board of County Commissioners of Monmouth County in 2024, the Wilbur Ray Entrepreneur Ambassador Award for Outstanding Community Service from Brookdale Community College, one of the Most Influential in Business of the Jersey Shore by Asbury Park Press in 2023, President’s Beacon of Excellence Award from the Monmouth Regional Chamber of Commerce in 2022, America’s SBDC State Star Award in 2021; Hometown Heroes Award in 2019 for women entrepreneurship; Business Leadership award from the Community Affairs and Resource Center in 2018; and first recipient of the Monmouth County Women in Business Award in 2015.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hunter College, a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Arizona Global Campus, and a Doctorate in Management from the University of Maryland Global Campus.

Jackeline is an adventurer who has traveled to 5 continents. She resides in Middletown, NJ, where she enjoys spending time with her two grown children, both budding entrepreneurs.

Jackeline is passionate about teaching entrepreneurship and advocating for women's equality and equity. She dedicates her time to mentoring aspiring entrepreneurs and empowering women to achieve their business goals.
